"Phishing Alert" when I try to log in to forum.

Tom Merton
Can admin (or someone who may know) help with a problem I have on my pc.  Whenever I try to log on I get a warning box saying Phishing Alert and says to close the programme.  I use an iMac with anti-malware and adwaremedic.  It's a pain using my phone.  Any help appreciated.  Thanks.

Couple of questions Tom.

Are you getting the warning when you access the forum or when you click Log In?

Who is giving you the warning, do they identify themselves in the warning window or is it your Mac malware protection?

Is there an address in your browser bar when this alert window pops up

Thanks for the speedy response admin, appreciate that.  It happens when I click on the Havering Forum link, it's an unidentified warning box not the Mac malware protection.  No address in browser, all very weird.

Hello Tom
This wont be much help I'm afraid but it has popped up on my MAC at work and my notebook at home.
Ive just deleted it and all seems fine. Having said that viruses have not been designed to attack MACS or notebooks and but I do have anti virus on both. It does make me wonder if someone is trying to attack the site. It would not shock me in the slightest but for suspects where would you start.

Hi Dalek
Thanks for that it is a help to know that, I'm sure there are people out there who would like the site taken down hopefully Admin has it covered.

e7 haha I'll take a rain check on that one, reminded me of the old saying though.  You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Interesting Percy,  what happens with me is a full blown warning of phishing and an immediate command to close down, what antivirus software do you use?   Using my phone just isn't the same.

What links?

This is a stand alone forum created by Nabble who are owned by a major software company.

We are aware of links to this forum on Streetlife and Facebook, are you accessing from there or just Googling "Havering Forum".

Yeah, I sometimes get that too Romfordian.  When it happens it really bugs me because I like to be in charge of my machine.

I thought it might have something to do with the forum reaching a degree where Nabble had the right to advertise.

Romfordian when you log on and are told you have been selected for a survey, is that request from Microsoft? If not who is it from?

Mines a google survey.  It just came on as clicked into angry.  I'm not using google but windows 10 Edge.

The survey only arrives when visiting angry site.

I have seen both surveys popping up on other PC's but not MAC's

If you are running Google Chrome, Firefox or internet Explorer download AdBlock, it's free and it works.

This issue has been reported to Nabble.
