True, Ho Hum. Christmas is about commercialism, cynicism, embarrassing office parties, puke on the streets, eating and drinking too much, hangovers, having dark disturbing thoughts about those less fortunate than we are, giving a couple of quid to charity and downright hypocrisy from the politicians!
As Tiny Tim said - "God Bless Us, Everyone!"
Re: Remembering at Christmas 2017 - Remembering Jo Cox MP, Remembering Mathew Harding
I worked there in the 70s,stuffed with journos from Islington and Camden with their left wing views that socialism was going to cure all the worlds wrongs-they were fawning over Mugabe when he visited one evening, look how that turned out for the black workers-I have been a trade unionist all my working life, but these people and their ilk make me want to puke.
I’m still waiting for this Socialist nirvana to be a success somewhere on this planet, one day they will come down to earth and realise they need capitalism to fund their ideals, unfortunately for them there are too many so called Socialist leaders around the world creaming the profits off the top,Putin is a classic example, before they can be used to raise up the lives of us so called lower orders.
Trick is regulating unfettered capitalism and stopping corrupt politicians filling up their offshore accounts.
