Looks like Upminster and Hornchurch are getting another lemon.
They’re cheap as chips, so foolproof a child could use them, and yet an essential safeguard against breaches of national security.
I am talking, of course, about boring old manila folders. If parliamentary aide Julia Dockerill had used one when she walked down Downing Street with her boss this week, then her handwritten notes on what may or may not be the government’s Brexit strategy (“have cake and eat it”) would never have been on show.
But she didn’t, and now the only consolation for a doubtless mortified Dockerill – who woke the next morning to find herself and her highly magnified memo plastered across the front pages, courtesy of a photographer’s long lens.
