Dont want to be a bad sport but I think I'll sign off for the night.
That was just total humiliation of the worst kind.
At least we got one in the last minute saved a bit of face.
Off for a big sulk now before Ho Hum gets going.

Well, we missed a penalty and conceded in the last minute, which isn't splendid, but 4-1 against an excellent Spurs side is very satisfying. Kevin de Bruyne had another outstanding game - the man's almost a magician.

Man City had 11 men of the match...though Sane' may have edged it.

Oh I did, Kevin de Bruyne absolutely brilliant BUT Sane's runs are legally unstoppable.

cook 21 runs in 2 innings not having a good series, needs confidence, ffs bring on the rain.

arnie  could have had 3 or 4, nicely taken pen and expertly won, Newcastle next, man c only had one tough game this month. no crowing d1.

Cook's in dreadful form but Joe Root isn't much better. His form (with the bat and in the field) seems to have nose-dived down under - is it the pressure of captaincy? Our leadership/senior men need to find something to lift the whole side and salvage something from the remaining tests. I don't agree at all with the "bring them home now" merchants - we're out there to play five tests and some ODIs and we still have the chance to take the smirks off Aussie faces and give them some bloody noses if we can.

Lost complete interest in test cricket in recent years.
England start emerging from the doldrums get to number one and then it looks like two years on the spin we are going to get whitewashed (India last year).
In my book Englands last decent skipper was Mike Brearley no great shakes as a batsman but he had the midas touch as a captain.

Cricket used to be the gentleman's game.  Some players are setting a poor example with bad behaviour off the crease...soon there'll be fighting on the terraces.

That's our problem HH - there's no such thing as a "gentleman's game" except for the snobs at the ECB and the MCC - men stuck in the past. They had to be dragged along to admit women's cricket and many of them are still resisting. If you want to live in a world like that, well enough, but everyone else has moved on. I'd say that the bad behaviour is committed by the antediluvian hypocrites called "the Establishment" - backward people unable to cope with change and expecting the rest of us to go along with their out-dated views.

Our best player is banned for 2 games for what is a 'maybe' dive.  I hope these new stringent rules are going to apply to Man United's spring board specialists and other turf chewers.

I'll be watching carefully.
