The-puppy-a-half-wolf-breed-was-badly-bruised The puppy, a half-wolf breed, was badly bruised

For three months Kalson Abbey, 40, repeatedly whipped his pet Mishka with a braided strap in a series of “punishment” beatings because she kept soiling his carpet, magistrates heard.

His aggressive yells of “bad dog” and the terrified yelps of pain from the animal so distressed neighbours in the cul-de-sac where he lived that in a dramatic rescue mission they confronted Abbey on his doorstep and forced him to hand over his pet.

The defendant is an angry man who beats his dog

They took the six-month-old dog – a half-wolf breed called Northern Inuit – to the RSPCA, whose vets discovered savage bruising on the puppy’s body.

This is so sad, this Dog was only a puppy.  Anyone that has ever owned a puppy will know that it can be hard work to get a dog clean.  In fact I have read that a Dog does not develop full bladder control until they are a year old.

I remember when we got Alpha, the first thing he done when we brought him inside the house was crouch down and do a poo!  The breeder advised us that the best way to get him trained was to take him out the garden on a regular basis and stay out there with him until he had done his business.  We got him in October 2011 so it was very cold.  We all took turns in taking him out and eventually after a good few months he finally got it.

Gazzer did the article say whether this Dog has now be re homed?

This man should have been given a custodial sentence, if you want to get a Dog you should do your research first and make sure you have an idea what to expect.

Hi Lorraine,

The fellow was banned from keeping animals fro five years and fined £250, in my view he should have gone to prison and banned from keeping animals for life.

Mishka was in kennels and treated by the RSPCA and will be re-homed. There is NEVER a need to hurt animals, Calm repetitive training will always do the trick. Why would you want to bash up such a loyal and loving creature, what posses people?? does it make them feel empowered.

Here is some more information on the breed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Inuit_Dog.

One of the things this article states is that this breed can be difficult to train and are better suited to an experienced dog owner.  I really hope that this dog finds a new home soon.
